The ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeth's are propelled towards the crown by forces of elemental darkness. Shakespeare’s most intense and terrifying tragedy is directed by Rufus Norris. Rory Kinnear and Anne-Marie Duff play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
The lead image needed to capture the intensity and anguish of the play. I commissioned Photographer Jack Davison to shoot Rory and Anne-Marie as if in a desperate, brutal embrace. We simultaneously created a trailer which played on these themes whilst adding a level of narrative to proceedings.
