'Tibet’s Secret Temple’ explored Tibetan Buddhist yogic and meditational practice and their connections to physical and mental wellbeing. Inspired by an exquisite series of 17th century murals from a private meditation chamber for Tibet’s Dalai Lamas in Lhasa’s Lukhang Temple, the exhibition featured over 120 objects including scroll paintings, statues, manuscripts, archival and contemporary film, together with a wide range of ethnographic and ritual artefacts and murals.
Malcolm Chivers and I commissioned Petra Börner to create a lead image depicting an island jungle of flora and undergrowth. The artwork was supplied in sections and shot as a layered, 3D scene. Malcolm and I also created the in-exhibition graphics and promotional materials for the show.
Alongside the lead campaign image, we worked with Jack Arts to create a sub-campaign where we asked eight young artists to simultaneously create eight murals across London that promoted the exhibition.
